Video: Cristiano Ronaldo pays tribute to departing Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard

Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to departing Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard as the former England captain leaves his boyhood club after 17 years.

The Portugal captain played with the former England international during his days at Manchester United and recorded a 13-seconds video as his way of paying tribute the Liverpool legend.

‘Hello Steve…just to say it was a pleasure to play with you many years when we play Manchester [United] against Liverpool. You are a fantastic player; I wish you all the best for your career and for your life,’ Ronaldo says in the short recording.

Gerrard will officially play his last match for Liverpool on Sunday, May 24, 2015, when the Reds face Stoke.
